The past few days have brought destruction and devastation to several areas of Sicily, causing significant damage and hardships for many workers. Catania FC, along with President Pelligra, has decided to donate all takings of the match between Catania and Cosenza to support those in need. Below is the message from the president:
“Good evening Catania and friends of Sicily, unfortunately we had this bad news of devastation of what happened in Sicily with the bad weather, it’s heartbreaking, it’s a bad news that has travelled across the world, and we are really sorry, our heart is with everyone and support.
Over last couple of days watching what’s been happening, it’s time to rebuild, it’s time to be strong, it’s time to work together and as Catania Football Club and Pelligra’s family, we have decided that we want you help. This weekend, all takings of home game will be donated to support people of need, business of need to rebuild. I ask for the support not just over our beautiful Catania fans but also over business leaders within the community of Catania, within the community of Sicily to reach out and help.
This is the time for us to support our beautiful Sicily, to rebuild and make it a great place again. So I strongly ask for the support of everyone.
